Mac Mini World
I finally bought an Intel mac. It is a mac mini core duo with a hefty 2gb of ram. This thing flies and it is so cute (not in geeky terms … it is really cute). I had been suffering from the fan noise of my old PC for the last three years and now (after having probably lost the ability to detect some medium to high frequencies) I can finally hear the birds singing outside and I have a lot more room inside. This thing is really fast too, you just wonder how they have managed to pack so much technology in one such little box. I am dual booting Windows and OSX on it and it works perfectly. Talking about listening to stuff, I recommend that you try using the distributed soundscape project Locus Sonus. You can essentially stream open sonic environment from pretty much everywhere in the world. I have set-up a listening point at SARC in Belfast… so please support us (it is free) and give it a go.
